In order to be able to reconstruct the remaining standing stonework and also rebuild the tower to it's original dimensions measurements of this remaining section of the tower wall was recorded. All the stones of the remaining outer skin were numbered as shown in the photographs the inner skin being un-marked for safety reasons. All the courses were measured for height and their radius reduction of to enable reconstruction of the tower at a later date.
